Meet my BFF - Bonnie!

Our first hour in Switzerland I met my new BFF, Bonnie.  She is a very knowledgeable British woman who can get you out of every bind, traffic jam, and illegal tram street.  Yes, Bonnie is the GPS in our borrowed car.

It was very fortunate that our new friend from IBM, Kevin, was departing Switzerland the exact same morning that we arrived.  He literally pulled up in front of the airport, pulled out his suitcases, we loaded ours (12 suitcases 40-60 lbs each), he hit the "go" button on Bonnie and off we went.  I had no clue where I was going, no clue what the road signs meant even if I could pronounce them, in rush hour traffic, no visibility out the back, you get the picture!  Bonnie talked me through it all, and 45 minutes later I made it to our new house.  Because we had so many bags (can you say last minute Costco run?) there was no room for Tom and the girls, they went in a separate taxi.

Bonnie led us to 3 different hotels, the girls new school, Tom's new work, and never gave me an attitude when she had to point out that, once again, it is necessary to make a U-turn.

I may have to say good-bye to Bonnie tommorow.  Our borrowed car is actually for sale, so she will lead me to the BMW dealership in downtown Zurich  where a potential buyer will try her and the lovely black X3 that she guides.  I will miss her and the her faithful guidance.  Perhaps I will replace her with Mr. Tomtom or Sir Garmin.
