We heard that the winters here could be brutal, with weeks on end of no sunshine. Our last snow was a month ago, when the meteorologists were predicting "40% chance light snow, no accumulation." We got 4 inches.
Since then I have been agitating to get out on my mountain bike and explore the mountains. For the last 3 weeks the forcast has been "37-42 degrees, partial sun" but we would never get above 27, and we never saw the sun. That is, until the last 3 days. It's a balmy 45 degrees!
We headed outside to play baseball. Sleeves optional. Our neighbors must be totally confused with the screaming, running on bases, and a bat that looks nothing like a cricket bat. We played football (american style), football (european style), grilled hamburgers, and hung out on the back porch admiring the sunset. You don't realize how much you miss the sun until you stop seeing it. Tommorrow they are forcasting 50 degrees, and they better not be teasing us!
We did the same thing on one of our first sunny days, off to the baseball park! Aah, baseball, football...feels almost like home. And you have such a great yard in which the kids can play. Look forward to hearing about the mountain biking!
ReplyDeleteI have got to tell you...Dr. Betor please return to Shelby. Your patients miss you terribly and the replacements and recommended doctors don't hold a candle to your reputation and demeanor with children. Lisa Wong (Emma and Evan's mom)has been having terrible experiences. On top of that, Evan had a Wilm's tumor on his kidney that resulted in them removing his kidney and 18 weeks of chemo. He is just over the half way point, but it's been really rough. So with their stellar insurance every bit helps and she misses you terribly!!! She told me to tell you that. I think your collective patients would be willing to pay for you to come back periodically and do a clinic. You're soooo special!
